What We Offer

For parents and students

PIANO LESSONS. Private, one-on-one hour lessons once a week on a 10-month studio year calendar. The studio year also includes additional 5 group classes throughout the year. Very young beginners may have 45-minute private lessons. Private Piano Lessons maybe in-person at the studio or online. Group classes are both in-person and online.

Students who live outside of the Soller Piano geographic boundaries with online lessons have the same opportunities.

Soller Piano Students participate in these events:

  • Studio Recital
  • National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC) Gold Cup Festival
  • External Theory Exam through NFMC or Texas Music Teachers Association (TMTA)
  • Soller Studio Master Classes
  • Houston Forum Master Classes
  • Houston Forum Recitals

Soller Piano Students may participate in:

  • Conroe MTA Betty Clampitt Competition
  • Conroe MTA Sonatina and Sonata Tournament
  • Houston Forum Jazz Competition and Festival
  • Houston Forum Young Artist Competition (multi-state competition)
  • TMTA State Contest
  • TFMC All-State Competition
  • Houston Forum Piano Recital
  • Rising Stars National Competition
  • Houston Forum Levi Stark Master Class

Other state, national and international competitions as designated

Curriculum is comprehensive and includes aural, reading, technique, keyboard functional skills, written theory, and improvisation. Classical training and repertoire, along with classical jazz provide the curricular structure. Technique, the craft of playing an instrument, is taught from the beginning from a healthy, well-bodied approach. (If you wish to know more, please look up Sheila Paige on youtube.)

THEORY TEST PREP. For any student, including external from the Soller Piano studio, studying for any exam certificate including AP and ABRSM. Tutoring available by the hour, short-term arrangement. Several students may get a class together. Fees based on per hour.
